Water ritual

Part of Boas her artistic practice is deeply influenced by her vivid, symbolic dreams, which she perceives as real worlds filled with animal companions, plants, and guides. This fascination with the dream realm manifests in her visual art, performance, and ritual work.

At exhibition;'Wat bezielt ons at the Vishal in Haarlem', Nina presented a water performance ritual, accompanied by drawings and masks. The color blue plays a significant role in her dreams and artwork, symbolizing deeper connections and inspirations. The masks and veils she creates, linked to natural elements such as moss, mugwort, and lavender, serve as portals to her dream states, enhancing her artistic process.

At the Vishal, Nina began her exhibition with a durational ritual installation involving water. She introduced water prepared with intentionality, placing it in glass bowls adorned with golden words of good intentions. During the opening, she wore a blue veil and a ceremonial mask to maintain focus and continuity in the ritual.

The water remaind in the exhibition space throughout its duration. during the exhibation, Nina conducted a workshop to deepen the connection with water and set intentions for improving global water conditions. The exhibition concluded with the water being returned to a natural body of water with positive intentions.
